Already married

Hi all, :D

My wife (here in the UK on a Work permit) and I have been married since May-04 and have been living together since Aug-04.

Does anyone know whether she can apply for Indefinite leave to remain once we have been married for 2 years?

OR

Do we have to apply for 2 year extension first?

What is your status in the UK?... dependent visa with your wife's WP?...
If so...
She can apply for ILR four yrs into her WP... and you can do so at the same time.

Which is when? :

After she has been married for 2 years

OR

after she has been given an extension to stay visa..AND been married for 2 years?

Sorry for the confusion... but I had edited my post earlier...

It depends on what immigration status you are on. If you are a dependent on her visa, then she apply for ILR four years into her Work Permit.

If you are a UK citizen, then it's a different case... easier and quicker!
In that case, she can apply for ILR 2 yrs into her residence here and then for naturalisation a year later... I think!
