I need help. I met an English woman while travelling and we fell in love. She came to be with me in California and we lived together in my home although without anything other than a tourist visa she visited home in England every few months. She also had early stage Uterine Cancer and is 27 yrs old now.
We got engaged in California.
Shortly thereafter we found out she was pregnant. Bit of a miracle with her condition.
She returned to England for Doctors and broke up with me not long afterwards via email in between one of my visits to England.
During her pregnancy, she told me to leave her alone, asked that I not stress her by visiting, and to just "Move on." Unbelieveable!
Now my baby is just over 1 month old and she not only forbid me from coming over for the birth, but she won't even send me a photo of my son. "I want nothing to do with you." is the last email I got. She has even told me to Stop sending baby parcels as "Its all too late."
What can I do? If I could get a work visa I would've been there 6 months ago! Does having a child there help me in any way? Is there a father's rights group that would help me for less than the Solicitors want to charge me? I would love nothing more than to live near my son despite his mother's irrational behavior. No I never betrayed her but I believe the stress of it all just drove her nuts!
Please give me some advice. Should I just sell my car and move to england and work under the table in a pub or something to be there even though I won't be making good money for my child? I have a good job as a Realtor selling high-end homes in California but what does that matter if I can send checks but never see my son? I would work in any field that would hire me. I believe she resents that I haven't just moved there on a wing and a prayer despite having broken up with me while pregnant and engaged.
Please help.

I am an American. I had an English Fiance who lived with me in California but during her pregnancy she returned to the UK and then broke off our relationship. We were never married and now have a son who is 14 months. I have visited often and am paying support and am determined to be fully-involved in his life. I wish to know if I am allowed to move to the UK to be near him which of course requires the ability to legally work in the UK. Does the law afford me this opportunity with some way to get a work visa due to my son's UK citizenship? He was born in the UK to his UK mother. I do have parental responsibility. Thank you!
