American Girlfriend

I have an American girlfriend who is a Flight.Attendant for an American airline flying out of Heathrow. She has what is termed "Commuter Status" to work in the UK from Europe.

We are planning to get married this year and I am unsure which is the best way to go about this?
Is is easier to marry in the UK or do it in America?

I know that as we are here it might be easier to do it in England. But she would like to marry in the states as that is where her family are.
Can anyone give me any sage advise please?
