american marrying english man

Post by madferret620 » Sun Feb 13, 2011 1:18 am

Hi All,

I am an American girl living in Las Vegas and plan to wed my english boyfriend quite soon. We are going back and forth on whether to to do it in the UK or the US. We are leaning towards the US- any opinions/advice?

If we do get married in the US can someone advise me on the steps of a spousal visa to UK? How soon can I apply for the visa after getting married? Costs?

Just a little side info, he owns his own flat and has had a steady job for the past 6 years.

I know this thread might seem a bit repetitious but there is a lot of information out there and we just want to do this right and in the most efficient manner.

Thank you!!!

After marriage in the USA, you may apply for a spouse visa, subject to maintenance and accommodation requirements.
