Was your uncle born in Northern Ireland? Or do you have any Irish-born ancestors on your mother's side of the family? May be worth looking into, as you may be able to claim Irish citizenship through descent.

U can't apply for ILR then, five years on a student visa isn't enough, you need ten. Also means BC is out of the question, also consider the whole ILR/BC process it due to change substantially.

WRT to Ancestry visa, I think adopted children are allowed to apply but I'm no expert so wait for others. U'd be entitled to ILR based on current rules after five years on an Ancestry visa, and BC one year later. But the process is set to change and undoubtably will be tougher.

And u might be a BC already if ur Uncle adopted you legally.
