Ancestry Visa from biological parents when adopted?

Post by Salzus » Wed Dec 05, 2018 9:27 am

So my biological father is British but my adopted parents aren't. I'm Australian. I'm in touch with my biological parents, is there still away to get ancestry Visa?

Was your biological father married to your biological mother at the time of your birth? If they were, you are a British citizen by descent and can apply directly for a British passport.

If not, you might be able to register as a British citizen (by descent) using Form UKF, which requires your natural/biological father to have been a British citizen otherwise than by descent.
