PR and Status of Spouse

Post by ooadlogan » Sun Aug 27, 2006 1:05 am

Thanks to Kayalami and other moderators and members for this forum.

Preparing to apply for my Canada PR, have a couple of questions:

1. My spouse (Indian national) will not be applying with me. Can my spouse work in Canada once I get my PR and move to Canada, what will be status that will be granted to my spouse at that time?

2. Which center is the best to choose when applying from USA; does that affect the processing time? Also, what is the current processing time and where can we keep checking this?

Thank you,
Logan

Even if your spouse is not going to Canada with you, so long as you are married, you need to add her details to your application. I don't know how you want to do this unless you state that you are not married but that will be a lie too and there are serious consequencies. You are better off adding her to your application now and then she can land later when you are approved.
