any news of future changes to psw in 2010?

Post by mdg » Sat Jan 30, 2010 6:45 am

I finished my MSc in Sept 2009 and unfortunately can't apply to the PSW visa because i had been fully sponsored by an organisation. However, I will apply for this visa in Sept 2010 while being still within 12 months from the "date of award".
Has anyone heard if there are any possible changes being made to the requirements or the visa in general for this year? I am afraid something will change from here until september and i wouldn't be able to apply.
Thanks

1. I have not heard anything about it and even if they do chnage it we can not do anything about it.
2. In my opinion, it can be minor or no chnages at all so do not worry too much about.
3. U said that u r sponsored by an organisation so why not get a consent letter that the organisation is giving u permission to apply for the visa as it shud not be a problem.

No news, but the idea is any change will be "making rule for PSW more stronger".
with the trend in the HO changes, it is always on area holes are identified, they will put some patches to correct it.

But my prediction is they might be removing all topup masters degree or even the full masters just like other professional bodies do not consider masters degree as they consider undergraduate degree. unless you can show it as a continuation of your undergraduate degree.

I have personally identify the hole, that people study more on masters than first degree for reasons of cost and time.

Masters is 1 year and this means 1 year tuition as Intl. Student from £8,000 or less if through college,
But Undergraduate Degree is 3 years and cost £8,000 x 3.
You see?, You save £8,000 x 2 and 2 years of your time here as a Student.

This is prediction and only here for record, do not rely on this, but pray that the Chameleon will not show its usual

It's that letter of consent i've been having problems with. Can't get a hold of them and it's proving to be very hard to get, so if it fails i'll apply once the 12 months have passed. Thanks for the info!

U can apply once the 12 months after ur degree has been awarded has crossed but obviously u would be refused.. no point in waiting that far..
