Any online tracking mechanism?

Hello Everyone,
Is there any online tracking system for HSMP application? Its very strange that the Home Office received my application on March 27, charged my card on March 29 and yet did not send me any application receipt on my mail!!! I had called up last week and they were processing March 22 at that time. I am wondering if this means I have to call them up every week from now on with my reference number and see where it's going or is there an online tracking system. Also, once a case-worker is assigned does the gentleman get in touch with the applicant for any clarification purposes or is it the applicant's onus to mail him?
