Any place to lodge complain against UK embassy?

Post by farazfastian » Mon Nov 02, 2009 12:43 pm

Hi All,

I'm totally disturbed and annoyed after trying everything to bring my mother or mother-in-law during my wife's pregnancy which is also over now as my wife has given birth to a cute little baby boy on 27th Oct but the last 4 months was the worst of my life when we tried three times for my mother and mother-in-law and all the time they rejected the application on the same ground that we can't prove your (mother) circumstances in Pakistan though they provided everything they could.

I really felt helpless that i couldn't help my wife on this even after living a legal legitimate life here in UK, giving all the taxes I can't go anywhere for justice.

Just wondering is there a place where at least i can take this situation or should i raise this in appeal?

Many Thanks
Faraz

complain first to the consulate. If the response is not satisfactory complain to the Ombudsman and/or your MP can try to get hold of the Minister for Foreign Posts. I would choose the former as the minister is in a weak position with the general election coming up (Labour will get kicked out imo)

make sure your grounds for appeal are intelligent, well thought out, and well explained. almost academic. let us know how you get on

you should probably appeal against the last refusal if you can as the Ombudsman would need that to investigate any shoddy work at the consulate (they're not in a position to review immigration decisions)

After you've done both of the above (and succeeded), you can start civil proceedings against the consulate if you've money to burn
