Anyone here who has received Unmarried Partner Visa

Hi All,


Just wondering anybody in this forum has received 2 years unmarried partner visa from student visa.

Would like to know about their experience regarding this matter. Hopefully Im not the 1st applying for this kind of visa

There are loads of people that changed status from student to unmarried partner. Make sure you're attending and prove that you're progressing in your course and not over working (more than 20 hours). You've got nothing to worry about if you meet the conditions and haven't breached your student visa conditions either.

Hi,

I sent a letter from my college stating that my attendance is over 80% and im a regular student currently studying for a Level 6 course. Also I work only 20 hrs and sent the salary slips as well.

I just asked this question because home office might check everything since a student trying to change his status to another category so he can stay in this country and get more benefits than a student.(since these days they trying to restricting the students and strict rules)

There are loads of people that changed status from student to spouse. Make sure you're attending and prove that you're progressing in your course and not over working (more than 20 hours). You've got nothing to worry about if you meet the conditions and haven't breached your student visa conditions either.

No worries, your situation seems normal and good on you for getting a letter from your college. Let us know when you get your approval :).

Bio metric for unmarried partner Visa?

I got a reply from someone in this forum that i dont need to go for bio metrics. But yet again i as checking some posts and found that all ho changed to unmarried partner visa from student visa need to got for a Bio Metric? What is the real situation?

Also I have sent my app on 11th So far they havent taken money from my account? Does this process takes alonger time for this visa category as I remember for my earlier visa extensions it tokk max 7 days for them to send me the letter

Yes you still need to do biometrics. Be patient. The waiting times are quite long for post applications flr(m).

You already had a reply to this questionhere confirming that you do need to give biometrics and linking you to the relevent information on the UKBA website.
