Apparent Legacy Case mistake! Please Help...

Post by llb2010 » Mon May 10, 2010 2:50 am

Hi everyone.
I arrived in the UK in 2003 and was granted a DL for 3 years.
It ran out and I applied for extension.
My case is in LEGACY CASES section, and 2 weeks ago I recieved a letter from HO asking for 4 photographs and any other ID or proof of employment.

I submitted them to my solicitor and I believe she should have sent them to the CASE PREPARATION TEAM in Liverpool, but instead had sent them to the CRIMINAL CASEWORK DIRECTORATE in Liverpool!!!

Why has she done it? was it required by the HO?

I should add that I have no convictions in the UK.

Your replies are much appreciated.
Thanks.

"Why has she done it?" - Why don't you ask her?

But if it's been forwarded to the wrong department, if it's carrying a HO Reference Number, it should end up at the right place eventually. In the meantime, it would do no harm to forward copies of everything - you did keep copies, didn't you? - to the right place with a covering letter explaining what's happened.

Hey Rusty,,,

Today I talked to her and she said it is normal for the HO to do this since there are alot of legacy cases being reviewed and the UKBA would occasionally pass on some cases to other departments so that they help out the case directorate teams.
