Appeal - Letter of Authority - Sponsor

Post by the_pit » Mon Jan 30, 2012 7:22 pm

Hi,

I tried to search this but I couldn't find it.

I send an appeal, I left blank the part of the "representative" where I am the Sponsor, I thought that this should be filled only if we have a lawyer taking care of this case (we dont).

The letter says that "No Representative or Sponsor has been designated".

I am wondering how this will affect the course of the appeal and the decision. I am the sponsor, and they should know this as I am the EU citizen sponsoring the EEA2 from which this appeal was generated.

So my question is if I should prepare a "Letter of Authority" saying the I am the Sponsor, and in that case, how? I found some template in Internet but I dont know if this requires some special signature or validation from an organism.

Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:)
Thanks a lot

I would say that if you have to take the route of 'Appeal'. Please take professional help from a lawyer rather than waiting for an answer from the board.

Hi, thanks but I already sent my appeal, I just need to know if the fact that I haven't provided a representative will play againts us.

In case it is reccomended to name one, I can name myself as Sponsor, and for that I need to send a letter of authority. But there we go again, I don't know if it needs to be certified by any entity or we can just prepare it and send it.

I have never used any lawyer and my EEA2 application is going well, my wife and daughter are in the way to be approved. (wife already have right to work thanks to COA). The complication is for my brothers in law, but I don't use a lawyer because it is too expensive and it is not the end of the world if they are not allowed to stay. So we try the easy and "free" way :)

Thanks a lot.
