appeal

Post by dObbyxxxxxx » Wed Jan 23, 2008 9:54 pm

hi folks! :D

today i have received my 10 MONTH residence card from the home office.

i was on a visit visa when we applied. i just would like to know what u think could happen if we challenge this decison of the home office in order to get a longer stay?

the visa has been granted outside immigration rules for the ground that my mum is very ill.

i have read the rules for visit visa extension but i still want to know what you guys think about this.

thank you so much in advance.

I'm sorry to hear about your mother's illness. I hope that she will recover soon.

I think that you were fortunate in getting more than six months for a visitor's extension.

As you now have leave to remain, I don't think that you have a right of appeal.

Are you asking in relation to yourself? Do you have a dependent visa or a visitor's visa?

hmm..
no, it was a friend of hers..
i originally had visitOr's visa and was granted 10 month residence card..

anyway, i just want to share this..

my uncle is planning to send the home office a letter of reconsideration, quite likely an appeal (though it was said in the notice that we are not allowed to appeal at this point in time).. i dont reallt know if this could help though..
