Application processing time from pakistan

Hi all,

Quite new here. I've been checking this forum and can't find anything relevant.

We have applied for my Mrs' visa from Karachi, Pakistan. She did her online application on 23rd October and had her biometrics and submission of documents on 31st October 2014 at Gerry's International Karachi.

Received an email on 3rd November 2014 stating that the application pack has reached British high commission Islamabad.

Worrying bit was that it stated that the processing time has gone upto 36 weeks because they are not meeting the criteria, when I was expecting it to be processed within 4 months. Please if someone can explain whether it will actually take this long or does it rarely happen.

Hi Arsalan,

Unfortunately due to some backlog the processing of spouse visa is taking longer than usual, though INSHA'ALLAH it will not be 36 weeks for you it is slower at the moment. Don't worry too much INSHA'ALLAH soon it will get better once they clear the backlog and process the current cases.

Ray of hope!! Now I've got this hope that the backlog clears up really quickly and that the application is processed soon in shaa Allah.

My wife applied just a few days after yours, and interestingly her e-mail said 24 weeks?!

I also hope it doesn't take 24 weeks...

Oh that's good news. I am hoping the backlog is clearing up quick so that they can work on the current applications. In shaa Allah both our spouses get the visas very soon.

Alhamdulillah my wife got the visa exactly 3 months after the online application. How's your application coming along?
