Application progressing in the system, meaning?

I received an update regarding my naturalisation application as follows:

“Your application is currently progressing through the system as normal, applications are currently taking approx. 6 months to process, however due to the current corona virus pandemic this may take longer as UKVI is operating with reduced staffing levels as per current government guidelines.”

Based on your experiences, what is the stage of an an application that is currently progressing in the system? Waiting to be allocated? With a caseworker? Or others?

I applied in on the 27th of September 2021
