Post by HSMPer » Wed Aug 22, 2007 6:55 pm

I came into the UK about 3 years ago on a Working Holiday Makers Visa.Enrolled for my BSc and MSc. I tried to claim HSMP points for previous earnings prior to me entering the U.K;

Why could i not claim this points as I was not working during my WHM visa but just travelling.

You might want ot be more specific as to the grounds for refusal cited in their decision letter. Presumably, your application failed in terms of earnings, for which they evaluate your chosen 12-month period in the 15 months immediately preceding the application submission; the sole exception they make to this would be full-time education. Taking a long holiday on WHM is not generally thought to be equivalent, although your post is insufficiently clear as to the relevance of the BSc and the MSc indicated. AG

Rejection update

Post by HSMPer » Wed Aug 22, 2007 7:37 pm

Hi Gordon,
This was what that was cited in the rejection letter.

"There is a gap of more than twelve months between the end date of earnings period(September 2003) and the date you commenced full time study(September 2005).Therefore we're unable to access the period claimed.

Employment in my home country : Oct 2002 - October 2003
WHM : October 2003 to August 2005
BSc : September 2005 - May 2006
MSc : September 2006 - present.

So the gap was in my WHM and a few months between my student visa.Is there anything I could do.I'm just desperate.Thanks guys.
