Applied fresh application for asylum seeker and need to apply work permission

Hi all
I have applied my asylum application in mid June 2019 and had first screening interview and then I got My ARC card and also said they will send a letter me about reporting very month but I has beeen 3 and half months I didn’t hear anything from home office .
While interview that said do you want any benefits I said I can survive my friends are helping me bcoz I don’t wanna take any benefits from them now I am really depressed that I didn’t received any letter for reporting and also all friends have their family they are not able me to help anymore .
I tried to call many times home office after 20-30 minutes my call got automatic disconnect .
Please help me what I should do how I can request them for work permission as I am facing financial problems I have a lot debt from bank .
Please suggest me ASAP
