Applied Naturalization with expired BRP

Hello

My friend has applied for Naturalization a few months ago. 3 applicants. 5 years Tier 1 + ILR (5 years)
But his son's BRP was expired by the time of making the application.

Will there be an issue?

His BRP is expiring 2025 (issued in 2015) but the Son's BRP is 2020 with just 5 years (2015-2020)
Not sure why the Son got 5 years and the parents were given 10 years.
