Applying for a fiancée visa and bringing my dog.

Post by Thisislondon » Fri Oct 17, 2014 1:04 am

Hi everyone, recently i got engaged to my boyfriend now fiancée and we've been together for two years now. I live in the United States and will be applying for a fiancée visa soon. I was wondering how long does the process usually take and what all do i need to do? I feel so overwhelmed looking everything up and I'm scared I'm going to do something wrong. I will also be bringing my 6 year old Shetland Sheepdog with me. If anyone could give me some advice that would be amazing thanks x

Have you been reading the gov.uk site on the process?

https://www.gov.uk/remain-in-uk-family/overview

And have you read up on the PETS scheme?

https://www.gov.uk/take-pet-abroad

Do you have some specific questions?

That was quick MPH80 :D
You can see people are ready to help on here, just go through the forum and come back to ask stuffs not clear to you.
But firstly, you need to know if your boyfriend earns 18600 or more, that's the major hurdle of the whole process.

Woah that was fast! Feeling a bit of comfort already. Ive been reading through the PETS Scheme and have been looking on the gov.uk site. Im scared i wont have eveything i need. Do i start the visa process and work on getting my dog ready at the same time or do i wait till closer to the time and apply for a visa? I do know that it will take 4 months from her rabies vaccination date to be allowed into the UK. So should i wait to apply for my visa or start when i get her rabies vaccination? Sorry if im being confusing x
