Applying for ILR: Applicant and Spouse

Post by Positivee » Tue Feb 08, 2022 12:30 am

Please I need answers to this ILR question:

If you have added a spouse or civil partner to this application form who is applying at the same time as you, please provide documentary evidence of cohabitation since you were last granted leave (up to a maximum of two years). Evidence provided should cover the whole period and be in the form of official letters or documents, addressed to yourself and your spouse.

My wife's name is only on Council tax and Tenancy since January 2017.

While my name is on all bills.

(1) what documents can we submit to support the above ILR question that my wife has been living with me since 2017 ?

Our extension was granted last year August 2021.

I will appreciate your response.

There are no specific documents. Provide any document that links you and your wife to an address in the last two years

Some examples: Bank statement, credit card statement, mobile statement, HMRC letter, NHS/GP letter.

These documents can be addressed to either of you, as long as the addresses are the same.

Thank you @zimba and @ywlgy for the positive response.

Please one more question about bank statement: Please kindly interpret this statement :

( These must be dated no earlier than one calendar month before the date of the application )

I submitted my application on the 14th February:

So, should i submit bank statement dated 13th January to 13th February?

Yes, the print date or statement date on it should be between those two dates. The duration covered on the statement should be in line with the period required by the ILR route you use,
Note that, this requirement only applies to bank statements that you will use to demonstrate your salary as required by the ILR route you use, not to those for cohabitation evidence.
