Applying for PSW When I don't Need One

Post by barney » Thu Jul 16, 2009 12:09 pm

Hi All,

I've been on the IGS scheme for the last year which expires at the end of the month, and I am having to extend it for another year by transfering it to the Post study work visa for another year.

However, I possess both Malaysian and Swiss Nationality. The latter meaning I don't actually need a visa to stay at all. But as the Malaysians do not allow dual nationality, I wish to stay in the UK for as long as i can on the Malaysian passport to reduce the risk of getting caught.

Looking at the PSW forms, its asking me for second citizenships and to send all my passports (Malaysian+ Swiss), which I did not have to do when I first applied for the IGS.

Question, can my application for PSW be rejected because I do not actually need it since I have Swiss citizenship? I don't want to waste £500 to apply for something which is going to fail.

As a matter of interest for me - how did u get Swiss nationality - as far as I know it's extremely difficult if not born there to two Swiss Nationals...

My parents are Swiss, therefore I inherited it through them.
