Applying from Working Holiday to Tier 1

Post by luloh » Sat Jun 27, 2009 3:44 pm

Hello all,

I am applying for a Tier 1 General visa from a Working holiday maker visa (valid between 20/02/08 to 20/02/10) on the 9th of July 2009. I have therefore been on the visa for about 18 months.

I have already worked my maximum of 12 months allocated on the visa out of the 18 months. I'm wondering if this will be an issue at all since the visa is meant to be for traveling purposes.

I was self-employed part of the time as well as being employed. How does one demonstrate that the days one was self-employed fell within the 12 month period? Are there rules that state that you have to demonstrate that you did no exceed the 12 month work allocation and what kind of documents do you need?

Thank you!

According to my knowledge, it is not possible to switch within the country from WHM to Tier 1 visa.

You need to go back to your home country to make any application.
