Applying in person PEO - Tier 1 HSMP extension

Post by goldfish » Fri Nov 05, 2010 2:22 pm

Three questions:

(1) Can I apply in person at a PEO for extension of my HSMP visa (the extension will be under Tier 1 - HSMP, I'm in scope of the judicial review)?

This page says I can:
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/conta ... oservices/
This page says I can't:
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/conta ... available/

(2) If anyone has applied in person for Tier 1 HSMP, what was your experience? I would like to know whether staff were familiar with Tier 1 HSMP (rather than Tier 1 General), so know what the requirements are for getting the extension. I would not want to go in person and have them confused because Tier 1 HSMP is less common, and then have issues with getting the extension.

(3) I was absent from the UK from Jan 2009 and returned in June 2010. I will be applying for my extension in Jan 2011. Will I experience issues with the extension due to the absence? And would this suggest I should apply by post rather than in person? I am not asking about ILR, only the extension.

If you applied for HSMP after 07-Nov-06, you are not covered by HSMP Judicial review. In such case, your extension will be based on Tier 1 (General) qualifying criteria, and you may apply in-person.

If applying for extension under the old HSMP rules using FLR Tier 1 (HSMP) form, the guidance notes state that one may apply for extension in person at any PEO (para 2, page 2 of 12).

Thanks, I was issued my HSMP visa in Jan 2006 so I am in scope of the judicial review. (I am not eligible for ILR due to absences.)

I will look forward to input from members on (2) and (3).

Yes, you can apply.

If you see the tier 1 Flr hsmp form itself says that payment for PEO cases is different than postal application. So it means the application is available by PEO services.

fLR tier 1 HSMP is non point based system application.
