Applying as PSW Dependant while in the UK as a tourist.

Can someone please confirm to me that I've made a stupid mistake?? hehe =0) :oops: :? :lol:

I'm under a PSW visa. Recently got married an my wife is coming over to the UK, but as a tourist, we already bought the flight ticket... yes.. I know really silly from me. After that I went through the policies for applications of dependants of PSW holders. I think, my wife can't apply while she is here in the UK as a tourist can she?.

Any ideas to avoid having to send her back an buy another ticket??

As far as I know, tourist visas cannot be switched, and only valid for a maximum six months... She needs to apply from outside the UK and make sure she satisfies the maintenance fund requirement before she applies.

Ok, that's what I thought.

Now, regarding the maintenance, I've read the rules but they are just confusing. Maintenance funds can be proven using MY accounts is that right? or does she have to have that money on HER accounts necessarily?.

Regarding applying from abroad? Could she apply from a country other than her native one?. For example, if she is in the USA as a tourist, can she apply from there?

1. Tourists are not allowed to switch status and u wife needs to go bak to home country.
2. She can not apply from USA as a visitor either she needs to be in her home country.
3. U r taking her responsiblity so account shud be yours so HO knows taht u have the required funds to support u wife or it can be a joint account.
