Applying a Spouse visa in Hong Kong

Post by joonyayu » Fri Jan 31, 2020 4:55 pm

Hello,

How are you all doing? I am new to this forum and would like to ask a few questions for applying my wife a spouse visa. Please allow me to give some details about our situation. I am a BC born and raised in Hong Kong. I married my wife in 2009 who is a Hong Kong resident and has graduated(BA) from Uni in Canada.
We have a son, BC also born in Hong Kong . We would like to move to the UK for good and since I do not have a job in the UK, 1. For the financial requirement, is the only way to have 62500 GBP for 6 months ? 2. Would it be possible for us to visit the UK while she is applying for the Visa? Because according to my friend who has went to an agent, they told him that the whole family must be together and arrive in the UK together as it is a family visa. I hope some of you can give me some advice. Thank you in Advanced

If you have earned the equivalent of £18,600 p.a in the 12 month period prior to submitting the visa application AND have a confirmed job offer in the UK to start within 3 months of arrival, (again meeting the £18,600 income level), you could enter the UK together once the visa is issued.

Alternatively, arrive ahead of your spouse and once you have 6 months of payslips and the corresponding bank statements, showing you meet the minimum income level, the settlement visa could then be submitted.

You will also require adequate accommodation for your family in the UK, which is available upon your spouse's arrival.

Bear in mind that it's not possible to switch to any other visa category while in the UK as a visitor.

Your spouse's intention to settle in the UK will mean any visitor visa application is likely to be refused.

Thank you so much for your reply Casa.

So meaning that we can only submit our income earned in Hong Kong only IF we have a job offer in the UK to start within 3 months of arrival?
My wife has a B.A (2003) from a university in Canada which has to be certified by NARIC, She has the certificate but will the transcript be necessary too?
