Applying Tier 1 Main application from mumbai

Anybody from mumbai who has applied for Tier 1 general application? While i know all the documents that needs to be submitted, i am more interested in what is the procedure of submitting the appplication (just for confirmation please mention form name), do one need to take appointment to submit application with VFS? Where to submit fees? Do one get confirmation number as soon as they submit application?, etc any experience would be great!!!
