I have 2 (related0 questions and it would be an amazing help if anyone could provide me a bit of help:
1. With regard to maintenance funds. I understand that it is permitted to apply with more than one account if the 800 pounds can be accounted for that way. I have an British account that has been my primary account during my stay, but also an American account with a debit card that works internationally from which I transfer funds. So my question is this: Will they accept my American account? There have been a couple periods where the balance has dropped below 800 on my British account but then I top it up with my American account (which itself has not had 800 pound minimum in it for 90 consecutive days, but both counts sum up to at least 800 pounds at any given time).
2. I spoke to someone at the border agency about this before I realized I might be able to use two accounts. I explained that the expiry date on my student visa is the 27th of November, 2011. I asked if I could wait in the country for 90 days after the last time my account dropped below 800 (July 18th) and apply at the end of that period. The person I spoke to replied that this was not necessarily possible, because my visa expired/I could not apply for a PSW after a deadline of 60 days after my "date of award" of my diploma. According to my Uni, that date is the 1st of august, meaning the last day I could apply would be the 1st of October (at which point I would not have the required 90-days). Is this at all accurate? It seemed a bit strange to me. Is it risky to apply after my student visa has expired?
Thank you!
