Are Tier 2 (ICT) visa holders eligible for ILR

Post by Nagababa » Sat Mar 19, 2011 1:03 pm

Hi

I am sure that this topic must have been discussed in the discussion board. However, I am not able to find anything specific.

I came to the UK on Tier 2 (ICT) visa on 26th July 2008 (Visa issued on 03 July 2008 for one year). I have been in a regular employment with a salary of £45K + since then. My Tier 2 (ICT) was renewed by my sponsor company in July 2009 for 2 years. This visa ends on 18/07/2011.

If I get my visa renewed for 2 years again and continue here in same employment, then at the end of 5 years ( 1+2+2), will be eligible for ILR?

Can somebody help me in deciding whether I should renew my visa for another 2 years and continue in hope of getting an ILR? Or if there is no possibility then I would not seek extension of the Tier 2 (ICT).

Thanks and regards

Anirudh

No one can tell you today what the rules will be in 2013.

Under current rules, migrants with leave Tier 2 (ICT) which was issued as per rules in place before 06-Apr-10 become eligible for settlement after completing 5 years in the UK.
