If HO ask to send them additional documents

If HO ask to send them additional supportive documentation, what is the way of communication:

HO ---email---> Applicant ---post---> HO

or

HO -post-> Applicant -post-> HO

?

And, just to fix the statement I heard before: do HO by default send approval/rejection + documents pack at once and at single package (overseas applicant) ?

send it by post, if you have tracking facility then you will know when it reached HO. The onward processing should not take more than 2 weeks. In country applicants get the decision letter along with their passports and outcountry guys get it with the doc's(all at a time).

About the first part of the question - the point was, how do HO contact an applicant in case where they need additional documents to be submitted, - electronically or by regular post ?

unfortunately it is via post. I said unfortunate because "post" adds up the delay.
