Attempting to Sort out a Fiance Visa

Post by Row » Sat Jul 01, 2006 2:03 pm

I have just been reading some of the messages posted here and I am now feeling hopefully and I praying that I can get some advice too.

Me and my fiance met over a year, June 2005 in London. I am British citizen living and working in the UK. He is Liberian and holds a workvisa and resendency in Italy, he has been there for four years. Over the last two years he has been given three tourist visa, two for six months and one for one year, currently valid until december.
We having been trying to find a way of being to together since last year November, work visa, me going abroad to be with him etc. But now we are engaged and really want to chance to start life together here.
So as for the VAF2 settlement fiance visa.
These are the documents that we have soo far
- Application form
- Letter from me - sponsor - relationship and future plans.
- Letter from him - relationship details
- Copy of sponsor passport -certified by solicitor
-Letter from School confirming me, sponsor has been a permenant member of staff since 09-2004.
- Payslips, P60. Salary is £24.000 pa.
- CV - sponsor, certificate of degree, teaching qualification.
- His CV
- Letter from father, brother and friends supporting relationship.
- Letter from Father stating willingness to support both and his ability to use savings or remortage house 5% to support us both.
- Letter from Landlord confirm he can live with me.
-Tenancy agreement
- Some records of telephone account used for me to call him and a few on telephone bill (mostly we use phone cards, so don't know what else to do)
- Some printed E-tickets (all our flights to visit each other have been e-tickets)
- Photos of us when first met, him with my friends, him with me and my family at Christmas. Our holiday photos in Sicily and Rome, London.
- Typed record of dates, times of SMS (not sure if they are acceptable but we don't have letters, emails, mostly texts)
- Bank statement, though it is into overdraft (£1000)for last six months. due to flights and calling each other. Monthly income is about £1,400.

Now as far as finances are concerned is it possible for my father to provide his savings bankstatement and proof of Mortage payments nearly completely paid off. Or is it better that he pays money into my accounts so for at least one or two statement I am out of the overdraft.
Please reply with any advice, especially as far as experience with guarantees etc.
Thanks
