1 year re entry ban to UK.Will it affect my australian visa?

Hi,
I studied in the UK from Sept 2008 to April 2011. I had applied for extension of visa in March. but by the time they responded, my visa was expired. To be clear, my visa expired on april 9th. They replied on april 20th. I booked my ticket on May 9th and came home. They told me that I will get a 12 month re entry ban to UK for Overstaying.
That was in 2011.
I have been working the past 3 years and now I am planning to apply for Masters in Australia.
I am worried that the re entry ban will affect my student visa to Australia.
Is there any way I can get a student visa?
All my documents are legal. I have never faked a single document even when I've applied to the UK.
