Australian Citizen with US citizen wife

Post by stevebickell » Sat Apr 02, 2016 1:51 am

Hi All,
I am an Australian Citizen and I am married to a US Citizen. We both live in Australia and she has a permanent residency to Australia, but not citizenship. (we are both 27 yrs old)
I was wondering what is the best way for us both to move to london to work for 2 years.
Can I get a tier 5 youth mobility visa and then she can attach to it as my spouse?
Does anyone have any suggestions of what I can do?
I am struggling to find a way for Jackelyn (US citizen) to be able to work over in the UK. She is a yoga instructor and will not be able to find anyone to sponsor her in that role.
I am a quantity surveyor. I can find a company to sponsor me, but is this an option? is this on the list of shortages?
I'm so stuck and really want to make this move with my wife.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Steven

No. Unfortunately, there are no provisions for Tier 5 youth mobility to bring family members.

Do you have any UK ancestry?

No, unfortunately I don't have any UK ancestors.
If I could find a company to sponsor me, could my wife be attached to that visa?

Thanks

Yes. For example, a Tier 2 (General) worker may bring wife.
