baby born in india for UK citizen

Hi,

I'm uk citizen and my wife has ILR . we are expecting baby in a month and i would like to know what the procedures to bring my baby from India to UK . Since i'm UK citizen can i apply for her british passport from india and bring over here?

If baby is British, then baby may apply for a British passport.

Thanks for your reply. I become uk citizen after staying here 5 yrs if so can baby become uk citizen and also can I apply for uk passport from outside uk?

Thanks, I also verified by phoning British high commission in India and they
confirmed the same.
