Baby born in the UK to mother with Right of Abode

Post by TXB » Sat Nov 07, 2009 7:41 pm

Hi,
I have right of abode in the UK and have been living here for 3 years. I am about to have my first child who will be born here. Does anyone know if he automatically gets citizenship or does he go under my right of abode until I convert my citizenship after 5 years?

We are planning to travel back to Australia in the first year of his birth and I'm unsure if I need to organise visa/s, passport etc or if he simply goes under mine?

If anyone has any advice on this, it would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks
