bank statement

Post by lupie » Mon Jan 26, 2009 10:10 am

Hi

I wanted to know that if I transferred money online from my account to my husbands account (who is the one who will apply for ILR) will the ILR be rejected?

I ask this because I read somewhere (I cant find it anymore) that a wife transferred money online to the husbands account and her name appears on her husbands account and they question this.

Also he has no money going into the account because he is paid in cash and the banks open at 9.30am and close at 4.30pm and my husband leaves work at 5pm so he cannot go and pay it in.

I cannot also go because the bank is quite far and I cannot walk and we have no car.

Will any of this affect his ILR?

Thanks
Lupie

As long as you have sufficient money in your account to support you, the fact that he doesn't shouldn't be a problem. However...you say he's paid in cash. Is he stating that he is employed on his ILR application, and if so, does he pay tax and NIC on this...any pay slips??
If he really does want to pay money into his account, this can be done by depositing in cash in the night safe of his bank in the envelopes provided. You can transfer money between your account and your husband's.. but as you'll be providing bank statements from both of you in the application, it won't make him look any wealthier.

Hi casa

Thank you for the reply

my husband is on the spouse settlement visa and yes he is going to write that he is working.

He is getting payslips and paying NIC and tax.

My actual question is if they see my name on his bank statement will they find it suspicious and ask questions?

As husband is from abroad he doesnt know any english and we kinda have no one else we can rely on (long story, family feuds) and his mates are in the same boat as him.

thanks
Lupie

Don't worry, it won't be a problem. Did I ask if he's passed the Life in the UK test?

It won't matter that you're transferring money into your husband's account...you have every right to do so.
