Bank Statments - Confirmation Receipt

Post by mepals » Mon Jul 23, 2007 7:24 pm

Hi,

I am planning to apply for HSMP however I do not have tax return for UK. So I am thinking of sending my bank statements as an exceptional evidence. However my bank statement does not show my employer's name nor does it say salary for XXX month. It just shows transfer from 'XYZ' bank. At the same time, I have got Transaction Confirmation receipts, from my bank, for every month which shows my Employer's name and in the notes shows 'Salary for XXX Month'. Can Homeoffice consider these transaction receipts as a proof along with bank statement. These receipts are on bank letter head. Or do they only stick to bank statement?

Thanks.

FYI ITR P60 is mandatory. It is clearly stated on the application form.
You will need to ask expcetional circumstance if your ITR does not cover the period claimed (whih majority of people will) and subm,it additional evidence

What they need is bak statement, transaction Confirmation receipts is not required.

But You could always try your luck and you think it is worthy to try.

Thanks for the prompt response. The problem is that my bank statement does not state employers name. But I have receipt confirmation showing the salary details and employer name from my bank. So just want to know what is the definition of a 'Bank Statement'? Can they accept this Receipt as a confirmation from bank?

Bank statement in UK clearly means the statement that you get each month via post. You can always order duplicate bank statements for a small charge. I ordered last 14 months bank statement from HSBC for £10.
I had a similar case, in May 2007 I was paid salary via cheque due to bank's goofup. The credit amount did not reveal my employer's name. I was lucky to receive a letter from the bank via post that the transaction number 123456 corresponds to a cheque deposited by my employer. I attached the letter along with May's bank statement, but for other 13 months I had my employer's name against each salary credit.
I have seen people in this forum who had similar problem with employer's name not visible against the salary credit. Approach your bank and ask them to issue you will a letter that the salary is credited each month from your employer, ask them to make a detail grid with credit dates, transaction ID and source, finally ask them to provide that all these transaction are from your employer.

Hope this helps!!!

Mepals

It is generally accepted Bank statements is the statement that U regularly receive form your Bank. This is what normally people submit together with thier application.

They normally require your employer name in the bank. But you could always try the statement that you get from your bank, mentioning that the money in your Bank statement come from your employers. You can not change the thing that have happened in the past, you coold not change the statement that have been issued.

Hi Friends,

Is it necessary to have the Bank's signature/seal on the Statement?

Is it not enough to have it on the Bank's stationary?

My salary account is with Citibank and as a policy they do not sign/seal the account statements.

Would appreciate if you can share your experiences/views.

Cheers!

What you really need to do is to get a letter from the bank stating that the specific amount of money paid into your account on a specific date is from your employer and the payment is for your salary.

I am in the same situation and for about four months my salary payment is showing on my statement as "Bank Credit", without my employers name. I am asking my bank to send me a letter confirming that it was my employer who made those deposits. I am also asking my employer to write a letter confirming that they made those deposits as salary payments.

keep us posted

@CD,

I managed to get a citibank statement from a branch(chennai) on citbanks letter head with Seal/Stamp. Request them with your concern they have to do it. Try speaking to the branch manager if they refuse initially.

Also a letter from emplyer is not a bad idea ,as this gives a double confirmation to the earnings proof.

Make sure both details does not contradict, date of credit, amount , transaction details etc are the key points.

Cheers
