Hello everyone,
My wife and I had to file a chapter 7 bankruptcy in November 2018. The situation was complicated and it was a mixture of job loss and some bad personal decisions that led us into debt.
Since then we have been very on top of our finances and everything has been fine and we have not gotten into any more debt since then.
Is this something that we will have to disclose on our tier 2 application and if so, will it cause any problems? And if/when we get to the 5 year point and want to apply for ILR, will we have to disclose it, and would it cause any issues?
Right before we filed for bankruptcy, one of our creditors sued us in small claims court but the case was dismissed once we filed bankruptcy and we were not “convicted” so to speak (not sure the correct term). Similarly, will we need to disclose this?
For reference we are applying for our first visa outside of the UK
Thanks in advance!
