Hello everyone.

She is not working and back home in germany she was in school and she find out that she is pregnant, she been having affair with a boy for a short time then when he know she is pregnant he run away and she know nothing about him whatsoever, she cant go back to germany as she have few family problem with her parents (strict cultural prbs)

I would like to get advice on what benefit she can claim as she donot have any money and her relative cannot let her stay any longer as she live in council flat with her kids. and what are the steps she have to do? She have nothing so far not even National insurance number and she know nothing what to do, she even scared go to hospital for her pregnancy and not even have GP yet. She plan to go school if she can to study english and do any course that can help her to get a job in future.

they called Jobcenter and they said they will call back in four hours but they not call back that was on thursday afternoon.

anyway anyone can also provide me with as much information and advice on what benefits she qualify for, or if she qualify at all, and what are the procedures for that.

i would be very much thankfull for mochyn and for every advice, even if it is a small tiny piece of advice, anything would help as this girl is completely feeling lost.

In this Claiming Benefits section of this board there is a pinned topic called "Detailed Public Funds guidance". Go to that and then click on its link.

Having done that go to page 15 of 49. Can I suggest, all the information you need. Quite detailed.

Thank You mochyn and John for ur advice.

i looked on page 15 but to be honest i find it not that much detailed. they said EEA can claim working tax credit and child tax credit which means she should be working.

but what a 17 years old girl who is pregnant and registering with a college for ESOL course and will be doing full time job what would be the case. Would she qualify for something like housing benefit to find a room to live in?and get some cash or vouchers to buy food and stuff like that?

She went to jobcenter and they said that they doubt that she can pass a test for income support.and gave her form to fill about habitual residency.
My question bec am not very experienced with these benefit things, is simple what support would she get to live on and to find a place to live with as her cousin insist she to leave flat as she is herself scared about being told that she is overcrowded in her flat and these things.

please mochyn and john and everyone i know i look abit dump, but would anyone be able give me more detailed advice about what she can do, i would be very greatfull for every advice.

..... can claim working tax credit and child tax credit which means she should be working
For Working Tax Credit, yes it is necessary to be working, but for Child Tax Credit there is no need to be working, but there is a need to have a child!

There is lots on the internet about eligibility for various benefits. Do a Google search should point you in the right direction.

thanks you John so much for ur advice, i really much appreaciate it.

Unfortunately as i said am not too much experienced with all details about european rights in UK, even when i did search for my friends case i dnt find anything much relevant.(could be my mistake)

anyway John i would be more thankfull if you continue giving us ur advice, now if this girl goes into full time education what would be her chances for getting help while she study?other thing someone told us as her cousin and auntie living here and she currently staying with them she can apply under their name, as joining her auntie to live here permenatly with. Would her auntie be able to claim for her income support or something like that? i am really sorry but really i been looking hours and hours on the interent but found nothing relevant for someone at that age,

I am not sure what she can claim. Ordinarily I would suggest Income Support, but that list on page 15 of the document I provided a link to does not include that benefit.

It might be best if she tries to get some advice from the Citizens Advice Bureau.
