Best effort for UK absences

Post by tacocat » Thu May 27, 2021 9:48 am

Hello,

I'm approaching my application date for ILR Set(O) and I am sweating the accuracy of my list of UK absences. For my previous job, I traveled a lot. Normally I would have all of my travel history, but I left that job nearly 2 years ago and I do not have access to the emails or records relating to travel. I did use multiple other sources to recreate all of my absences to the best of my knowledge (TripIt, airline logins, etc), and even triangulated most of the travel with the stamps in my passport. However, not every country issues passport stamps. The United States does not stamp US passports (I have a US passport), and Hong Kong only issued small bits of paper instead of a stamp. Other flights left at night in one country/time zone, and arrived in the UK the next day.

If I had to guess, I'd say that I am about 90-95% accurate on my UK absences. I expect the travel to be validated, so I'm concerned about any issues arising due to any inconsistencies? Hopefully I'm overthinking this.

Thank you.

You should not face any issues. The absences must be entered based on UK entry/departure date

Thank you for the reply.

What if I’ve left a trip out by mistake? Or entered the wrong date of entry or exit? Will this become a problem?

Thanks again.

No unless you are over the max absence limits. UKVI will rely on data in their own systems to check this

Zimba--

For as much as I used to travel, I am not near the maximum limits.

Thank you for the peace of mind.
