My friend has recently extended the student visa and received the new ID card (instead of visa stamped in the passport). Now he is going to apply for PSW visa.

Does he need to send the passport and the ID card?

Would HO now issue visa stamp on his passport while issuing PSW visa (instead of a new card)? (bearing in mind that that HO not issuin ID card for Tier 1)

If they now stamp the passport with PSW visa, does that mean they would return the present ID card (which has student visa on it)?

Please advice.
