I symphatize for you. Don't leave it keep following up. Remember, the more the bio metric is delayed the more the problem for you to keep waiting for a decision on the outstanding application. The application file will be considered by the case worker on considering the bio metric registration dates only ( will be queued in to their system) and not Date of application.

As per rule, they've to dispatch bio-metric letter or should be able to generate bio metric letter from thier system after the Visa payment is cleared. That is 28 working days from the date of Visa payment clearence. However, they're s*uckers and they never go by rules, so call up the number and file a complaint and they'll provide you with a SLA period that within 10 working days from the date of your complaint , the letter will be despatched .

I waited 2 months to receive bio metric and un fortunately due to that delay my application is queued into their system after plp who applied in last minute (mar 20 to Apr 5) because my bio metric is 24th apr 2012 and my date of application is 10th feb 2012.

I tried calling them from Mar 1st week of bio metric , howver could not get any good responses and i registered the complaint on phone by apr 5th and bio metreic letter was generated on 18th apr 2012 ( which is exactly 10th working day , as per SLA) . The post man delayed it and i received it only on 23rd apr 2012 and i gave finger print registrations in the post office on the same day..

@kartik_r - What's the number you rang ? When I rang them today all they said was that they cannot find my application reference number on their system although I did receive the ack letter. I later found out that this is because the applications are not been sent from Durham (where the payment is collected) to Sheffield where the case worker team is based and it can take a few weeks for that to happen!
What is this SLA ? Please explain. Where is this stated ? So do you mean that biometrics letter should come through within 28 days from the date of the ack letter because that's generated after the payment is collected. Please advice.

Have you received your biometric letter yet? I was hoping that I would get it yesterday but I have not received it. I hope it comes today if not then I will call them and register a complaint as suggested by Kartik

I applied on 4th April and got the ack letter on 17th May, but did not get the biometric letter. Anyone please update your status.

Hi Shreyas, nope nothing yet.........i have called them at lest ten times, no answer......now i am worried is my application is invalid or something............

Hi Ahmed84,

I don't think your application is invalid, there are a number of other people waiting for their biometric as well. Looks like last week they were dealing with the biometric appointments and processing applications. So, I think this week they will send the invites for the next batch of applications. Fingers crossed though

I will call them again today, although my phone bill is going through the roof!!

Applied on 2nd April got Ackw letter at 30 April but so far not biom letter at all. So guess wha you not in this mess alone

I applied on 31st march 2012 and received my ack letter on 28th april and haven't received anything since after that. Its getting frustrating now as it's been almost 2 months since i applied. is there anyone with the same timeline?

Yes, I have exactly the same timeline as you, sent application on 31st March, received acknowledgement letter on 28th April, nothing since then, tried calling UKBA many times, no response. This is ridiculous now, seems they have all gone on holiday!!

Why does it take so long to send a letter. And why there are no complaints recorded against the UK BA.

I have seen same issues with the Tubes. When I wanted to complain there is no such thing to do in their website.

My visa has expired now still working as a contractor even though I have been offered a perm job due to visa delays.

Call up UKBA and request the biometric letter. You need to choose the biometric appointments option when you call and explain your situation. They will ask for your case reference number stated on the ack letter and they can raise a query to send you the biometric letter. However there is a chance that they will say your case reference number cannot be found on the system yet in which case you need to wait.

If you want to make a complaint you need to write an email to them but as usual they are not very efficient in dealing with complaints either. However, that doesn't mean you shoudn't complain. I made a complaint and received their response which I have not seen yet as they sent it to my university. If you need further info about where to send the complaint let me know. I can give you the details.

I'm shocked that I've still not received the biometric invitation. Judging by other people's timelines I thought I would get it yesterday or today, clearly that is not the case. Now I have to wait until Wednesday to call them up and ask for it. This getting ridiculous now, I'm so depressed and don't know what to do, I'm guessing my visa will only come in August now.

I applied on 30-MArch and got the Biometric letter today just to realize that the barcode they sent me is not working and I couldn't do the biometrics! I have to call them now on Wednesday and either they will send me new one or dunno what they will do about it.

Looking at this, it might take entire June and July too...

Now let us all take a moment and celebrate the queen's Jubilee!!!

You need to send an e-mail with your complaint to UKBACustomerComplaints@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk. It's going to take a while to receive any response but at least it will expidit the process in getting the biometric letter if you still haven't received it. I am talking from my own expereince becasue in their response to my complaint which I received recently they have mentioned that "As a way forward I can confirm that a biomtric letter has been issued to you an you should received this shortly", whihc I did about ten days ago!

Hi All,

It's kind of depressing moment which is running for a long and we cannot do anything but wait, my case is similar kind of you where I have applied for the extension of my Tier-1 on 2nd April and Fees was got deducted on 2nd May

I called UKBA on 1st June 2012 for not receiving Biometric Appointment letter and I was told it has been sent on 16th May 2012 which I haven't received the letter ever and UKBA have raised request for reissue of BRP Appointment Letter.

Don't what is happening and why there is no transparency among people who call and admit there mistake?
