Biometric Residence Permits for NZders- I don't have one!

I am currently completing my ILR application. It asks for by BRP number which I do not have as I have never had one. I called the HO help desk and they said just to leave this blank as if I don't have one and I entered the country before these were issued.

HOWEVER, looking at the guidance notes on the form, it states these have been issued since 25 November 2008 to 'certain' foreign nationals. I entered the country in August 2012 from New Zealand. Have I missed something, or were New Zealanders not required to have these in 2012? I hope not, or I have missed this vital document for the last 5 years!

TBH I am not one to try the HO help desk, so hoping someone else in a similar situation can reassure me.

Don't worry. Just leave it empty. You will be issued a BRP for your ILR
