Biometric test (Finger prints)

Post by Mission193 » Sat Jan 09, 2016 11:33 am

Dear All

I am a new poster so please don't shoot me down and tell me my question has already been answered :)

My wife and I got married in 2013 and got a 2 1/2 year visa FLRM.

In May my wife went back to her country and changed her passport into my name and took our daughter with her (british passport holder)

When she arrived back in the UK she realised that her visa is not in her new passport but in her maiden name passport.

I called the Home Office in October and they advised we need to send it off and get her new permit card in her married name. I advised the agent on the phone that her visa is due to expire in jan 2016 can it wait to till then. She advised it better to do it now and get the biometric test done (finger prints) so when she comes to apply for her new visa in Jan 2016 the process will be quicker.

So we done the finger prints and my wifes passport and permit card came back just before Christmas.

We have applied for her new visa for another 2 1/2 years this week and we have just got a letter this morning saying she needs to do the biometric test.

The only reason we did the biometric test in October because we was advised the process for her flrm visa will be quicker. Now we have been asked to do it again.

Please can anyone share some light on it. I hope I have made my story clear :)

Everytime you make an immigration application, you are required to enroll your biometrics (finger prints, photograph, signature etc.).
This is a mandatory requirement.
Life isn't fair, but you can be!
