Biometrics for ILR - Possible future change by UKBA

Post by jami » Sun Jul 17, 2011 10:36 am

Soon UKBA may require ILR applicant to enroll their biometrics details as part of ILR application - May enhance fee on this pretext. Be ready for that.
Here is a text of UKBA PEO email seeking vote regarding availing of Super Premier Service:
.............................................................................................

"Dear Sir / Madam
I am writing to seek your view, using the voting buttons above, on a possible future change to the process of applying for Indefinite Leave to Remain.
Indefinite leave to remain (often known as 'ILR' and 'settlement') is permission to remain in the UK without any time restrictions on the length of stay.
It is likely that in future those applying for ILR will be required to enrol their biometric details as part of their application. This would require ILR customers to visit a biometric enrolment centre to provide their biometric details, before the case is considered by a case worker.
As an alternative to visiting a biometric enrolment centre, PEO Croydon currently offers a Super Premium Service for customers required to enrol their biometrics as part of an application. This service offers a number of benefits:
- customer application forms will be collected from customers by a Government Mail courier;
- our officers will then visit the customer to enroll their biometric information at a location of their choosing;
- We will then make a decision on the application within 24 hours of the biometric enrolment.
The fee for the service is £6,000 (plus the appropriate public enquiry office fee for each application). This fee is chargeable once for each visit, however multiple applications can be considered during a single visit. For more information, please ring 020 8196 3893 or 020 8196 3892 or visit http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/conta ... r-premium/
We would like to know whether you believe your customers would be interested in using the Super Premium Service to provide biometrics for future ILR applications.
I would be grateful if you could click either "Yes" if you feel that some of your customers would be interested in using the Super Premium Service for ILR applications, or "No" if you do not.

Thank you for your assistance. Your feedback will be extremely valuable as we work to develop our services and strive to meet the needs of our customers.

Kind regards,

The Super Premium Service would be out of question. Too much expensive, HO cannot justify this fee.

Yes but whether people avail this is something to look into. I personally think this is too much.
