BioMetrics Resident Permit

Ok, I am probably over ! thinking but my appt is at the PEO on Sheffield and I am still reading the website of the HO ensuring all is ok.
What is a biometrics resident permit?
My husband doesn't need one does he? I don't have one and I am British.
He is israeli, applying for Set M... am I just simply going crazy now and looking in to things too much?!
