Biometrics

Hi Everyone

Does anyone know when the biometrics for visa started? So far I found that BRP system started around end of 2007, so it may have started that time as I can't remember if I have given finger biometrics around 2005 or 2006.

If anybody can remember please let me know, also did VFS centres took biometrics around 2004/2005? I can't recall anything if they used to take fingerprints.

Since 2008 there has been a requirement for people subject to immigration control,
who are applying for leave exceeding 6 months must also apply for the issue of a
BRP and register their biometric information as part of that process.

I have seen this document, So do you think as well that they never took any fingerprints before 2008?

Probably not as the legislative basis for collecting biometrics was the Immigration Act 2007
