Birth certificate for child’s registration as citizen under HS’s discretion

Post by GSVP » Wed Feb 03, 2021 4:31 pm

Hi. Thank you in advance for any help received.

Question about which birth certificate for child and parents should be submitted due to Covid restrictions in obtaining quickly enough the other ones.

Child and parents are all born in non EU country and they have a citizenship of that country also.

With them at the moment they have international, in English birth certificates of that non EU country.

They acquired EU citizenship in that country through ancestry. They have a EU birth certificate at the moment just for child. Timeframe to obtain others would be due to Covid restrictions it will take longer than usual and travel is not possible.

Obviously they are applying as EU citizens.

Child has received settled status before with non EU birth certificate being submitted.

There are no difference in spelling of names in both countries’ certificates. Of course both countries allow multiple citizenships.

Can they submit international, non EU one for child’s registration as I mentioned the child was anyway born in that country?
