bit of a mess

Post by Rnaz » Wed Mar 17, 2010 4:11 pm

Sorry for my long question in advance and I would really appreciate any guidance.
My husband aquired british citizen overseas BNO for being a resident of HongKong. He had a BNO passport. I have 4 kids, the elder two, 14 and 12 years old, have BNO passports. The younger two, 9 and 6 yrs old have Pakistani passport with HongKong right of abode. I have Hong Kong Right of abode. My husband died 2 years ago. I applied for HOngK passport after that but it was rejected and I relocated with my kids to Pakistan.
Now, I want to emigrate to UK. I have a few possibilities in mind,
1. Can my two elder kids travel to UK alone, claim benefits etc on arrival or be taken care of, and then somehow apply for me to come over?
2. When can I get BNO passports for my younger children and how ( any specific forms?)
3. If i manage to get a visitor's visa for myself and my 2 younger kids, can I claim to be given residence in UK under humanitarian grounds.

I cannot live in Pakistan due to circumstances and want a way out to UK.
Please advise!
Thank you

I don't think BNO passport is of any use for UK residency except if u r stateless and have not made yourself stateless...

BNO can claim british citizenship after 5 yr stay in the country and they already have 'Right of Abode' in the UK

On what grounds do they have ''right of abode'' in the UK?

BNO holders do not have the right to citizenship in the UK.

Where were you born?

My 2 children who have Right of Abode in UK were born in HongKong while it was British overseas territory.
