UK border issue

Post by mando112 » Wed Nov 11, 2015 9:33 am

Hi All,

I changed my t2 general to t2 dependent and have been in the UK in excess of 9 years.

In my 9 years never stopped but last week when returning, they stopped me and handed the visa suspension notice.

they guy at border control asked me if I had any issues with my visa and I said no.

she went away and 10 minutes later said all is good and let me in. She mentioned because old visa was curtailed somehow it wasn't updated hence why i got stopped and she mentioned her manager has requested UKVI to update the system.

I am confused, isn't UKVI using the same system ? does my T2 dependent not show a valid date so they shouldn't be concerned about whether my old visa was curtailed or not? It will be curtailed anyway as I changed visa.

Many thanks

It's unfortunate that after being granted further or indefinite leave to remain, some caseworkers have a misconception that your previous visa has been curtailed.

As she admitted you, don't worry about it.
